The point of the conclusion in this verse is that Zelophehad’s daughters faithfully obeyed the LORD’s command. One of the key requisites for blessing according to Numbers is to obey the LORD. Since there is a conclusion here, it would be helpful to begin this verse or the middle of it with a conjunction, such as “thus/so” (New Living Translation, Traduction œcuménique de la Bible, SPCL) or “in this way” (Bible en français courant, Nueva Traducción Viviente).

They were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph: They were married into is literally “They became wives to” (see verse 3). As in verse 1, the Hebrew word for families (mishpachah) is more accurately rendered “clans” (New Revised Standard Version, Good News Translation). The Septuagint, the Vulgate, and the Peshitta have a singular form here. However, there is no reason to deviate from the Hebrew plural form here (so Hebrew Old Testament Text).

And their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father: Again, the Hebrew word for family (mishpachah) is more accurately translated “clan” (New Revised Standard Version, New Jewish Publication Society’s Tanakh). Here the Hebrew mentions tribe (matteh) before “clan” (compare verses 6 and 8), so this clause seems to treat matteh and mishpachah as near synonyms.
