The Greek in John 11:34 that is translated “Where have you laid him?” or similar in English is translated in Polish as Gdzie go położyliście?

Unlike Greek or English, Polish has a gendered second person plural. Here “you” (as expressed in the verb form położyliście or “you laid”) refers to addressees who are male (or who at least have one or some men among them). This means that the translators decided that Jesus did not address Mary and Martha but instead the men who had laid Lazarus into the tomb (which could have possibly included Mary and Martha).
