SIL Translator’s Notes on 2 Corinthians 10:7

10:7a You are looking at outward appearances.

(Revised Standard Version) Look at what is before your eyes.

Look at the facts before you (plur.).
-or-
Accept the evidence of your eyes.
-or-
Believe what should be obvious to you.

10:7b If anyone is confident that he belongs to Christ,

If someone is sure that he belongs to Christ,
-or-
If anyone is convinced that he is Christ’s follower,

10:7c he should remind himself that we belong to Christ just as much as he does.

let him understand that we (excl.) belong to Christ just as much as he does.
-or-
well, he should think again about this: We are Christ’s followers just as certainly as he is.
