Translation commentary on The Prayer of Azariah and the Song of the Three Young Men 1:65

If integrated into the book of Daniel: 3.87

You who are holy and humble in heart: Good News Translation omits in heart as redundant, but in some languages it may be natural to keep it. Those who are called on to praise God are not thought of as holy in the sense that God is holy. These are people who live holy lives, meaning that they obey God’s commands. So we may translate the whole expression here as “all who are humble and obey God.” Note that Good News Translation reverses the order of holy and humble, but this has no significance; the translators evidently thought it sounded better in English.
