My heart was stirred to seek her: Rather than begin the second line with therefore, Good News Translation begins this line with “Because.” They express the same relationship. This line means much the same as the first line of verse 20; the translator needs to find a way of restating the idea without sounding repetitious; for example, “Because I had such a desire to become wise [or, find Wisdom].”
Therefore I have gained a good possession: “I have been richly rewarded” (Good News Translation) is a satisfying translation here. The reward is specified in the next line, and in languages that do not have the passive voice, we may say “The Lord has richly rewarded me.”
