Another way to express this connection is “Instead [of bragging].” These things refers to the pleasures of the dinner party. Bless here means “thank” (Good News Translation).
And satisfies you with his good gifts: The Greek verb translated satisfies means “intoxicates, makes drunk.” It implies that our Creator is lavish with his good gifts. Good News Translation tries to convey this with “letting you enjoy so many good things.” Contemporary English Version has “who lets you enjoy all the good things he made.”
