The concluding doxology was added as an appropriate ending for Book Two of the Psalms (Psa 42–72; see 41.13). For Blessed be see comments on 18.46. Blessed be the LORD or Good News Translation “Praise the LORD” is sometimes rendered “Let all people speak well of the LORD, who is the God of Israel.” This may be stated in direct speech as “Let all people say ‘The LORD is great’….”

English “alone” in who alone and Good News Translation “He alone” means “He is the only one who….” For wondrous things see comments on the similar expression in 9.1.

To say that God’s name is glorious means that God is great, powerful, and marvelous, who has blessed his people, the people of Israel, in extraordinary ways (verse 18b). For name as representing the person, see comments on 5.11.

God’s glory is his power, majesty, and goodness revealed in what he does, especially in his love and care for his people.

Amen means “So be it” (see 41.13). Bible en français courant translates the whole line “Amen, yes, that it really be thus!”
