All the words in this verse have already been noted: trusts (13.5); steadfast love (5.7); the Most High (7.17); and the verb “shake, fall,” of the statement (shall not) be moved (10.6). The name Yahweh in line a and the title the Most High in line b are represented in Good News Translation by “LORD Almighty” and “the LORD.”

The king trusts in the LORD must in some languages be rendered idiomatically as “the king puts his heart on the LORD” or “the king gives his heart to the LORD.”

Steadfast love of the Most High must often be restructured further than in Good News Translation. If not, there is the possibility of misunderstanding this expression to mean that the love is a possession of the LORD rather than the act which the LORD does to someone. This expression may sometimes be rendered “because the LORD loves him greatly.”

Shall not be moved is a promise that the king will not be removed by force from his throne. The meaning of this statement must in some languages be expressed idiomatically as “he shall sit a long time” or “he shall sit firmly.”
