The psalm ends with a prayer for Yahweh to deliver his people from exile and take them back to their land, where once again, in the Temple, they will praise his holy name. If the translator follows Good News Translation‘s “bring us back,” the verb used will in many languages represent a speaker point of view, and in languages which require stating the place, it will be necessary to say, for example, “return us to our land” or “take us back to our country.”

Lines c and d are “to give thanks to your holy name, and to take pride in praising you.” The verb “take pride (or, boast)” in line d further defines the gratitude expressed in line c; see similar language in 105.3.
