The psalm closes with the confident assurance that future generations of Israelites will dwell securely in rebuilt and restored Jerusalem. Revised Standard Version shall be established in line b is meant to be parallel with shall dwell secure in line a. A better way to say this may be “endure” (New Jerusalem Bible), or “continue,” or “survive.” Good News Translation “under the protection” translates before thee; as Anderson says, “in Yahweh’s land and in his care” (see Bible en français courant “under your care”). The expression children of thy servants refers to the descendants of Israel, and to avoid possible misunderstanding may have to be recast to say, for example, “We are your servants, and our children will live in safety,” or “The children of those who worship you will…,” or more directly as in Good News Translation, “Our children….”
