And Jesus rose (Good News Translation “So Jesus got up”) presupposes that he was still sitting down for the meal (verse 10). According to Mark (5.21) the incident happened as Jesus was walking beside Lake Galilee. Another possibility would be as Barclay has rendered it, “Jesus started out to go with him.”

Followed him, with his disciples translates a typical Semitic Greek structure, literally “followed him and his disciples,” in which Jesus is the subject of the singular verb “followed,” and the disciples are understood as participating in the action of following. In some languages either a verb must be supplied (Good News Translation “and his disciples went along with him”), or else a plural form of the verb must be introduced (“Jesus and his disciples followed him”). New English Bible (“and so did his disciples”) and New American Bible (“and his disciples did the same”) are similar to Good News Translation.
