Translation commentary on Leviticus 9:23

For the first time Aaron enters “the Tent of the LORD’s presence.” With regard to Moses, see Exodus 40.35 and Leviticus 1.1. The writer does not indicate what Aaron and Moses do inside the Tent. We are simply reminded that this is the right of the priestly class.

They blessed the people: this additional blessing of the people by Aaron and Moses together is not explained. We do not know why it was necessary to bless them a second time or whether it included a gesture like the first. To emphasize the joint character of this blessing, it may be necessary in some languages to say something like “together they blessed the people” or something similar.
