Verses 15 and 16 constitute a summary and conclusion to the section on which people could eat food offered in sacrifice (verses 1-16). Good News Translation simplifies and restructures the two verses. This may be a good idea in a number of other languages.

The priests: Revised Standard Version does not reflect the source text, which literally has only the pronoun “they.” However, this obviously refers to the priests.
