Out of the camp: according to 13.46 the diseased person was required to live in a special place away from others in the community. The priest, therefore, had to go away from the place where healthy people lived and into the area of the diseased.
Shall make an examination: or “shall look carefully at that person.”
If the leprous disease is healed: in some languages one must say “If the person is healed” or “If the disease is gone.” Compare 13.2.
