Translation commentary on Leviticus 13:37

This is the opposite of verses 35-36. Compare verse 23.

In his eyes: that is, “in the judgment of the priest.” See verse 5.

The itch is checked: literally “the itch remains.” New American Standard Bible has “the scale has remained.” But the intent is almost certainly that the disease has not changed but has remained as it was. Some languages may say “the itch did not get worse” or “the skin has not changed.”

Black hair: see verse 31.
