Translation commentary on Deuteronomy 4:47

This is a summary statement of the conquest of these two territories (see 2.26–3.10). If translators have a comma at the end of verse 46, they may begin verse 47 with “and King Og who ruled in Bashan, and occupied their lands. These two Amorite kings had ruled the territory east of the Jordan River” (so also Contemporary English Version).
