Translation commentary on Daniel 6:19

At break of day: literally “at dawn, at first light.” Compare New English Bible “At dawn, as soon as it was light,” and New Jerusalem Bible “At the first sign of dawn.” Revised English Bible begins this verse “he was greatly agitated,” reordering the elements and transposing the idea of haste to the beginning of the verse.
