The repeating of the words the ark of God will probably be unnecessary in many languages. But if such repetition is natural, it may be retained in the receptor language. Some may say “with the ark of God on [or, in] it [the cart].”

Went before the ark: Ahio was walking in front of the cart, which was carrying the ark, while his brother was probably beside it.
