Good News Bible has a paragraph break here since there is a change in speakers. Other languages may find this helpful.

He replied in the language of his fathers, and said to them, “No”: The language of his fathers probably refers to Hebrew or Aramaic. Most of the talking was done in Greek, the king’s native language and one spoken by the Jews. The king and his men would not have understood when people spoke Hebrew or Aramaic, but they would surely have understood the word No. Good News Bible makes the scene more dramatic by saying “I will never eat it!” A model for the first half of the verse is “He answered in his own language [or, in Hebrew], ‘No! Never!’”

Therefore he in turn underwent tortures as the first brother had done: Good News Bible joins this sentence to the next one, which is a possibility. However, we prefer for it to be a separate sentence; for example, “So they tortured him the same way they had his brother.”
