The concluding formula in this verse is similar to those found previously in this book (1.18; 8.23; 10.34; 12.19) as well as twelve times in 1 Kings (beginning with 11.41). For his might, see 1 Kgs 16.5. It will be recalled that the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel mentioned here does not refer to 1-2 Chronicles (see the comments on 1 Kgs 14.19.) So an effort must be made to help the readers avoid making the wrong association. The question format of Revised Standard Version may be rendered more naturally as an affirmation in many languages.
