And thou didst say: Most scholars and editions of the Latin text place this quote frame at the end of the previous verse (so Good News Bible). It makes little difference, but we prefer to follow Revised Standard Version.

Hear me, O Israel and give heed to my words, O descendants of Jacob are parallel in meaning. The nation of Israel is the descendants of Jacob. Good News Bible combines these two clauses, saying “Listen to me, people of Israel,” which is an adequate model.
