Thou hast commanded that from the members themselves (that is, from the breasts) milk should be supplied which is the fruit of the breasts: Here the breasts are the members of the body spoken of. This verse is repetitious, and can easily be made shorter as in the following model of verses 9-10:

• 9 The mother’s body protects the unborn baby, but [all the while] you are protecting both of them. And after the baby is born, 10 you see to it that the mother’s breasts produce milk.
