Now, therefore, keep your sorrow to yourself may be rendered “So suffer in silence” or even “So don’t weep anymore, but suffer in silence.”
And bear bravely the troubles that have come upon you: The Latin text is literally “and bear bravely what has happened to you.” Revised Standard Version adds the implied idea of troubles.
We suggest the following model for this verse:
• So be brave now. Suffer in silence, and accept what has happened to you.
