And all the people agreed to grant Simon the right to act in accord with these decisions: Good News Bible expresses all the people agreed as “The people gave their unanimous approval.” A better model for this whole verse is “All the people agree [or, have agreed] with these decisions concerning Simon.” This model change the past tense of Revised Standard Version and Good News Bible and implies that the above regulations were still in effect.
