In those days Jonathan assembled the men of Judea to attack the citadel in Jerusalem: After Alexander’s death Jonathan was quick to challenge Demetrius~II by moving against the fort in Jerusalem, still occupied by Syrian soldiers (see the comments on 1Macc 10.9).
