The king here and in verse 16 refers to Ahab and not to Jehoshaphat. This information may be made explicit in translation (so Good News Translation, Parole de Vie).

Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall we forbear?: This question takes the same form as the one that King Ahab asked of the other prophets in verse 6 except that the singular pronoun “I” is used earlier while the plural we is used here (see the comments on verse 6). And here the question is directed specifically to Micaiah. Since Micaiah would in all likelihood not be expected to participate in the battle, the pronoun we should be translated as exclusive in those languages that distinguish between first person plural inclusive and exclusive pronouns.

As in verse 4, Bible en français courant also makes it clear here that the purpose of going to Ramoth was to take it back from the Syrians, so it translates “Micaiah, shall we go fight to retake Ramoth of Gilead, or shall we not do it?”

He answered him is literally “he said to him.” Revised Standard Version correctly renders the Hebrew verb for “said” as answered in introducing the response of Micaiah.
