Arise and eat is literally “Arise eat” as in verse 5.

Else the journey will be too great for you is literally “because the journey will be too great for you.” Revised English Bible translates this as “the journey is too much for you.” But such a translation fails to capture the sense, which is “because if you don’t eat, the journey will be too much for you.” That is, the journey will not be too difficult if he eats, but if he does not eat, then it will be too difficult for him. New Century Version focuses on the difficulty of the journey rather than its length by saying “If you don’t, the journey will be too hard for you.” The journey would be both long and difficult; trying to do it without adequate food would add to the difficulty. From Beersheba to Horeb is about 400 kilometers (250 miles).
