Blessed art thou may be rendered “I praise you” (so Contemporary English Version; see the comments on verse 40). Good News Bible omits this idea, but it should be kept.

Who hast given me wisdom: See the comments on the previous verse. Revised Standard Version uses the archaic verb hast given since this is a prayer. New Revised Standard Version removes this archaic language, saying “who have given me wisdom.”

I give thee thanks, O Lord of our fathers: Our fathers refers to the ancestors of the Jews. Good News Bible renders this clause well, saying “I thank you, O Lord of our ancestors.”

Here is a possible model combining verses 59 and 60:

• “Lord of our ancestors, I am your servant. I give you honor and thanks for giving me wisdom. All wisdom and victory come from you, but praise is due to you alone.”
