Your sins are forgiven: In this clause Jesus declared again that the woman’s sins had been forgiven and remained forgiven. Jesus was reassuring her and declaring to everyone that she had been pardoned. The form of the verb that the Berean Standard Bible translates as are forgiven is the same form as in 7:47a. (See the note on “have been forgiven” in 7:47a–b for further comments about the verb form.)
Translate this clause in a similar way as you translated the similar statement in 7:47a–b. For example:
You have received forgiveness for your sins
-or-
⌊I⌋ have forgiven your sins
See also the notes on 5:20b. Jesus had said the same thing to the paralyzed man.
