2:20a Look, O LORD, and consider:

Yahweh, look and think about it! (Translation for Translators)
-or-

Jerusalem says,⌋ “Yahweh, look at me. Think ⌊about my condition⌋.

2:20b Whom have You ever treated like this?

Have you ever caused people to suffer like this before? (Translation for Translators) ⌊No! Never!
-or-
You have never treated anyone else like this!
-or-
You have caused us ⌊your chosen people⌋ to suffer worse than anyone else ever!

2:20c Should women eat their offspring,

Is it right that mothers eat their children? ⌊No!
-or-
How can it be that women ⌊are so hungry that they⌋ eat their children?

2:20d the infants they have nurtured?

They eat⌋ the babies, whom they tenderly cared for. ⌊That is terrible!
-or-

They are so hungry that they cook and eat their⌋ little ones, whom they love so dearly!

2:20e Should priests and prophets be killed

Is it right that priests and prophets are being killed (Translation for Translators)
-or-
How can the priests and prophets be killed

2:20f in the sanctuary of the Lord?

in your own temple? (Translation for Translators) ⌊Of course not!⌋ ⌊They shouldn’t be!

while they serve Yahweh in the holy place? ⌊That is terrible!
