SIL Translator’s Notes on Lamentations 1:10

1:10a The adversary has seized all her treasures.

The enemies plundered ⌊Jerusalem⌋ completely. They took away all of ⌊Jerusalem’s⌋ valuable things ⌊and all the holy things in the temple⌋ . ⌊So the enemies made the temple unclean.

The enemies put their ⌊unclean⌋ hands on and grabbed what was most valuable ⌊to the people of Jerusalem⌋ .

1:10b For she has seen the nations enter her sanctuary—

She has seen foreign nations violate her sacred Temple. (TLB)
-or-
Foreign people walked into ⌊Jerusalem’s⌋ house of worship.

1:10c those You had forbidden to enter Your assembly.

Foreigners were the people⌋ whom you/Yahweh had forbidden to ever come into the place of worship.

But God had said that that people like that must not go in there. (Easy English Bible)
