Some English versions have this verse at the end of 19:40 and do not have a verse labeled “41.” Follow the common language version.

he dismissed the assembly: The word dismissed refers to telling the crowd to leave. Other ways to translate this clause are:

he told the people who had gathered to leave
-or-
he told the gathering that they should leave
-or-
he said to the people gathered ⌊there⌋, “Leave ⌊here⌋.”

assembly: This word refers to the people gathered in the amphitheater. Other ways to translate this word are:

meeting (Good News Translation)
-or-
people who had gathered there
