The assumed Hebrew word play between “stones” and “children” (see Translation commentary on Matthew 3:9) can be seen in modern Hebrew translations where “stones” is translated as hāʾăbānîm (הָאֲבָנִים) and “sons” as bānîm (בָּנִים).
