But those who are left of your people, who are found within my holy borders, shall be saved: Revised Standard Version‘s footnote indicates that the Latin text lacks the verb shall be saved. This is true, but we think there is no problem with the Latin. This verse simply adds to verse 47 the information that the big crowd of peace-loving people mentioned at verses 12-13 also includes the faithful Jews who never left the holy land of Israel at all. Good News Bible has this right (so also New English Bible, Revised English Bible). The textual addition from the Syriac is unnecessary. We suggest the following model for this verse:
• But the crowd will also include those of your people who still live in my [or, God’s] holy land.
