Fathers for sons or sons for parents, brothers for brothers, relatives for their kinsmen, or friends for those who are most dear: Good News Bible makes this verse a separate question, which we recommend. It is also helpful to include Good News Bible‘s textual footnote. A model based on Contemporary English Version is:

• For example, will fathers be able to pray for their children, and children pray for their parents? Will brothers and sisters be able to pray for each other? What about close relatives and friends* who pray for each other?
