This is my judgment and its prescribed order; and to you alone have I shown these things: In this subsection the angel Uriel is speaking to Ezra. However, here the pronoun my probably refers to God, which indicates he is speaking. To the ancient Jewish reader there would have been no difference between the words of God and the words of God’s messenger, but readers today may find it difficult. Here is a possible model of the verse that avoids this difficulty:
• Ezra, this is what will happen at the time of [the final] judgment. I have told these things only to you.”
