Translation commentary on 1 Maccabees 11:14

Now Alexander the king was in Cilicia at that time, because the people of that region were in revolt: Alexander was probably in Cilicia to put down support for Demetrius. Cilicia was a district on the southeast coast of Asia Minor. Were in revolt may be rendered “had rebelled against him.”
