All these were honored in their generations: All these refers to the people in verses 3-6. In their generations means “during their own lifetimes.”

And were the glory of their times may be rendered “These were the great men of their day.”

Alternative models for this verse are:

• All these were given honor during their lifetimes;
they were the great men of their day.

• Everybody honored these men highly during their lifetimes;
they were….
