In the final verse the psalmist proclaims the happiness of the people to whom such blessings come (literally “to whom [is] thus”; see New Jerusalem Bible “who have it so”). This refers to the preceding description of prosperity and peace (verses 12-14). All of this is in consequence of the happiness of those whose God is Yahweh (verse 15b).

In languages in which the wishes expressed in verses 12-14 are stated as “may God cause…,” it will often be necessary in verse 15 to say “The nation that God blesses like this will be happy.” The expression whose God is the LORD may be compared to 100.3, where it is the reverse, “the LORD is God.” There the order is specific: Yahweh is equated with the generic God. Here the generic God is equated with the specific Yahweh, and the meaning is the same. In some languages the expression in verse 15 will be rendered as “Happy are the people who worship God, whose name is the LORD,” or, more simply, “Happy are those who worship the LORD.”
