The strophe closes with another expression of pleasure in being able to know God’s laws. Line a is similar to verse 14a; and my counselors in line b translates the Hebrew phrase “my men of advice.” The meaning is “my teachers, my instructors,” but in some languages it may be necessary to say “I am instructed (or, made wise) by studying them.” New Jerusalem Bible translates the phrase “my intimate companions.”
