So then: This phrase introduces the logical conclusion of what Paul wrote in 14:10–11.
give an account of himself to God: This refers to explaining to God why you did what you did in this life. Here are other ways to translate these words:
each of us will have to give answers for our lives to God
-or-
every one of us must answer God’s questions about our behavior
-or-
each one of us will face God and tell him what we have done
-or-
He will check up on us and we will have to tell Him about everything that we did here on the earth
