12:16a And if the ear should say,

And if the ear says,

And ⌊as another example,⌋ suppose an ear were to say that

12:16b “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,”

“I am not an eye so I do not belong to the body,”
-or-
it does not belong to the body because it is not an eye.

12:16c that would not make it any less a part of the body.

it does not stop being part of the body because it said that.
-or-
Even though it is not an eye, it is still a part of the body.
