And the king said to Daniel: Good News Translation renders the connector And as “One day,” which is much better in English in this context. We recommend that translators follow Good News Translation here.
You cannot deny that this is a living god is literally “You cannot say that this is not a living god.” It is remarkable how colloquially appropriate Good News Translation‘s translation is, although it is really quite literal. Living god refers back to verses 5 and 6 (see the comments there).
