Logos, Word

“Logos” which is translated as “Word” in English versions was changed in a second version of the translation into Tzeltal de Oxchuc y Tenejapa (Highland Tzeltal) (2001). The previous translation translated “Logos” as “the Word of God”. This has been changed to “the Word” and follows the Bachajón Tzeltal (Lowland Tzeltal) New Testament in this, using the term te C’opile. C’op means word and language. C’opon is the verb to talk. It’s preferable to “the Word of God,” which is a term used also for “Bible.”
