The Greek metaphor that is translated as “clothed (with power from on high)” or similar in English is translated in some German versions (Neue Genfer Übersetzung, 2009 / NeÜ bibel.heute, 2011 / das Buch, 2022) as ausgerüstet (mit Kraft von oben) or “equipped (or: “being clothed with armor”) (with power from on high).” The translators were able to elegantly use the double meaning of the German term “ausrüsten” to communicate a literal meaning of the metaphor as well as the actual meaning.
